Ladies - Help me and my moisture

Ladies (and gentlemen, if they know anything about this subject), I need your help! I would like to get some advice on triathlon dress. I'm coming up for my first tri of the season. I've only done a few tri's, and it seems like every time I do one, I get a Y(east)-infection. My doc says it's common amongst triathlete women, and I was surprised, cuz I've never seen anyone blog about it.

I've worn Tri bike shorts thru swim, bike, and run, and I've even changed immediately after finishing the race...still the Y creeps up. So, I'm wondering if it helps to just wear a swimsuit and put on bike shorts afterwards and maybe this will cut the moisture. Does anyone actually change their clothes in T1? My tri is less than 2 hours. Have any of you had this issue? Am I the only blogger who wants to talk about this?

Any words of advice would be helpful. I have my Mon(istat) on standby at home, but I'm really hoping I could figure a way to avoid the situation.

THANK YOU! I have no answers but I have the exact same problem. It's not the tri itself...it's all the training. my doc (who's a triathlete) tells me I have to use a hair dryer after swimming or bathing...even at the GYM! i can't quite bring myself to do it.

Would love to hear if other people have this problem.

Sorry I've not had this problem but I would think wearing a bathing suit underneath is going to make you more prone. From googling triathlon and YI, it seems that diet, taking antibiotics and too thick a cycling pad in your biking shorts could cause the problem (i.e., not enough moisture wicking going on and hence also common among women cyclists). Maybe try doing your tri in only your bathing suit or getting a pair of very thin padded tri shorts? I usually use Chami Butr in my bike shorts which adds comfort (and moisture) actually.

Hope you're able to find a solution!
